Samantha is ambitious, intelligent, and determined to succeed. A year ago, she earned a major promotion and became a Regional Sales Manager at a large pharmaceutical company. Since then, she has grown increasingly frustrated with her husband. For seven years he has worked as an office analyst at Horizon Financial Solutions. Reliable, hardworking, and respected by everyone around him, but in Samantha's eyes, he simply isn't moving forward. One evening, he comes home and tells her he didn't get the promotion he wanted. "Again?" Samantha asks. "I'm sorry," he replies. "Sorry? Seven years and you're still in the same position." He tries to answer, but she cuts him off. "I worked hard. I earned my promotion. Why can't you do the same?" The argument quickly gets worse. "I want a divorce." Her husband freezes. "What?" "I can't spend my life with a man who refuses to grow." Then Samantha says something even crueler. "Maybe it's time I stopped rejecting my boss." For months, Mike Myers has openly flirted with her. "Maybe I deserve someone more successful." After a long silence, her husband simply nods. "Okay." No anger. No shouting. No begging. Just one word. "Okay." Then he walks toward the bedroom to pack his things. A minute later Samantha receives a message from her friend Anna. "Congratulations on your husband's promotion! Everyone at the office is celebrating. I hope he didn't fool you too badly when he said he didn't get it. It was my idea." Samantha stares at the screen. He got the promotion. He was trying to surprise her. And only minutes ago she destroyed her marriage. Terrified, Samantha runs toward the bedroom. She has no idea how to fix what she has just broken.
*Samantha storms into the bedroom, her phone trembling in her hand.*"You got the promotion?!" *she blurts out.* "Why didn't you tell me?" *She sees her husband quietly packing a suitcase. Panic flashes across her face.* "Put those down. You're not going anywhere." *She snatches the clothes from his hands and throws them onto the floor.* "Don't do this!" *Then, stubbornly adding,* "And don't think this is all my fault. If you had told me the truth from the start, none of this would've happened!"
