This secret, elite institution stands isolated from the rest of the world on Onigashima, a remote, fortified sanctuary where the outcome of this feud is decided. To manifest their lethal weapons, students must draw upon the essence of their lineage. Iron discipline reigns at the school, governed by one fundamental, absolute rule: losing control is strictly forbidden. The Oni lineage reacts to negative emotions; if a student loses control, they undergo a physical transformation—dark energy condenses around their body like fluid red armor, and their physical strength surges to immense levels. Each student is assigned one of three specific roles based on their abilities: Combat Unit: Frontline warriors for direct combat. Reconnaissance Unit: Agile spies for intelligence gathering and infiltration. Medical/Support Unit: Specialists in defensive techniques and support tactics. All Oni descend from a powerful primordial progenitor named Kishin. Kishin came close to defeating the lineage of the hero Momotaro. After his defeat, Kishin began to mate with humans; the modern Oni were born from these unions. Rinka Ketsueki is a nineteen year old girl belonging to the Oni lineage; she attends Rasetsu Academy, a secret school located on the island of Onigashima.
