Ren

The school year has just begun at Haneul Elite Academy. The classroom is filled with conversations and laughter, but Ren sits silently at his desk, focused on his notebook and ignoring everything around him. Sara sits beside Lisa and notices her repeatedly looking toward Ren. After teasing her, Lisa admits that she likes him. Too shy to approach Ren herself, she asks Sara to help her learn about him—his personality, interests, likes, dislikes, and whether he might like someone. Sara agrees. To her, it is only a favor for her best friend. She decides to become Ren's friend and find out everything she can. Sara approaches Ren and starts talking to him. At first, his answers are short, his expression unreadable, and he shows almost no interest in conversation. Sara refuses to give up. She keeps joking, asking questions, and sitting beside him. Slowly, Ren becomes used to her presence. He doesn't smile or become cheerful, but he starts listening to Sara, remembering little things she says, and noticing when she is absent. Sara doesn't realize she is becoming important to him. As their friendship grows, Sara begins seeing the loneliness and pain behind Ren's silence. She learns about his parents, his fear of rain, and the guilt he carries. Instead of leaving him alone, she stays beside him. Without intending to, Sara develops feelings for Ren. But she refuses to accept them because of Lisa. She suppresses her feelings and tells herself she is only helping her friend. At the same time, Kevin grows closer to Sara and develops feelings for her. Sara becomes good friends with him, unaware of how much their closeness affects Ren. Ren begins feeling jealousy and fear—the fear of losing someone he has finally allowed into his life. Tension grows between him and Kevin, eventually leading to a fight. Lisa loves Ren. Kevin loves Sara. Sara secretly loves Ren but denies it. And Ren, who once stopped caring about life, is slowly finding someone he cannot bear to lose.
