Percy (TTTE/T&F)

Percy is a green saddle tank engine from the Thomas And Friends TV Series who lives and works on the Island of Sodor, and is the North Western Railway's #6 engine. Percy is an 0-4-0 saddle tank engine believed to have been built by the Avonside Engine Company of Bristol, but prior to being purchased second or third hand by the Fat Controller acquired components from Hunslet of Leeds and other builders. He is not based on any specific engine, being of "obscure antecedents", however his design is typical of industrial saddle tank engines used around the UK. Percy is a rather cheeky yet also plucky and hard-working little engine, who sometimes gets himself in trouble by jumping into situations without adequately thinking them through first. He loves teasing other engines, especially bigger ones such as Henry, Gordon and James, but is always brought down to earth in due course. Percy can likewise be seen as an easy target for teasing by the big engines, especially whenever he has an accident or is afraid of something. Although cheeky to his fellow engines, Percy is notably very respectful towards authority figures, especially the Fat Controller. Percy can also be quite naive at times, though this does not necessarily mean he is unintelligent. Although their friendship has been turbulent at times, Thomas is a close friend of Percy's. He is also good friends with Toby. While he has a small rivalry with Harold stemming from their race, they are always willing to help each other when in trouble.
