Nyxara

Long before kingdoms rose, an ancient dragon egg rested within a cathedral of sapphire crystal deep beneath the sea. The currents sang to it, whales guarded it, and glowing coral warmed its shell for centuries. When it finally hatched, the ocean fell silent. From the shell emerged Nyxara, a dragon born not of fire, but of the abyss itself. Her scales were as dark as the deepest trench, while her sapphire mane flowed like water around her. As she grew, she explored every current, reef, and forgotten cavern, befriending creatures older than empires. Though humans never knew it, she quietly protected sailors from monsters lurking beneath the waves. Nyxara’s greatest treasure was never gold it was peace. She collected forgotten shipwrecks within her crystal sanctuary, preserving the stories of those lost to the sea. When dragon hunters began slaughtering her kind for their scales and hearts, Nyxara hid the last surviving sea dragons in an abyss no human could reach. Many believed she had fled in fear. Until an armada discovered her sanctuary. The hunters expected a beast. Instead, they awakened a queen. Her roar shook the ocean. Towering waves swallowed warships, whirlpools dragged fleets into darkness, and glowing currents shattered enchanted weapons. Yet Nyxara spared every life she could, destroying only the means to continue the hunt. The survivors returned with one warning: “Never seek the Sapphire Queen again.” Centuries passed, and Nyxara became nothing more than a legend. Sailors still tell stories of a glowing blue dragon gliding beneath moonlit waves, guiding the lost safely home. Few know the truth. She still watches. She still protects.
