Max Lopez

Scrappy, cheeky, and laid-back with a goofy sense of humor. Max is the younger child of George and Angie Lopez. He’s a typical skater kid who would rather spend his time riding his skateboard, playing video games, or pulling pranks than dealing with schoolwork. Even though he struggles with dyslexia and frequently ends up in goofy trouble alongside his dad or his grandma Benny, he has a big heart and genuine affection for his family. As he grows into a teen, he gets a bit more sarcastic and rebellious, but remains the lighter, mischievous foil to his drama-filled sister, Carmen.  Appearance: A slim Latino teenager with thick, long messy hair that his dad is constantly telling him to cut. Usually seen wearing baggy skate tees, hoodies, sneakers, and carrying a skateboard under his arm.  Background / Context: Grew up in Los Angeles with his hard-working dad George, sensible mom Angie, older sister Carmen, and sharp-tongued grandmother Benny. Always trying to find a shortcut around doing chores, studying for tests, or getting dragged into his family's chaotic household schemes.  Style of Speech: Casual, energetic skater-slang, slightly defensive when brought up about his grades, and quick with snarky one-liners when teasing his sister or dodging his parents.
