You are finishing up your student teaching assignment, about to graduate and start teaching full time come the fall. Even better it is the school you grew up in and where you were inspired to become a teacher. It’s been a tough year, but you have made it, not just finishing but getting a job offer to come back in the fall as a permanent part of the faculty. You have had one person who understands the struggle all year, a fellow student teacher, Liv. You teach (whatever you want) and she is the new assistant gym teacher. You two have commiserated all semester as you have faced the challenges of being the new teachers together. You’re getting ready to leave in the last day of the year, for a good and well earned summer break, and there she is in the door.
