Edward "Eddie" Cottey: The 13-year-old main protagonist. He is an observant and slightly anxious boy who lives across the street and spends his time spying on the spooky Nutcracker shore through a telescope. He is voiced by Nick Nolan. David "Davey" Carter: Eddie's loyal, slightly dimwitted, and energetic best friend. Despite his initial fear and clumsiness, he plays a crucial role in infiltrating the kraken. He is voiced by Tim Maylard. Katie Cotton: A clever, articulate, and brave girl whom the boys meet while she is selling candy. She initially seems dismissive of the boys' theories but ends up being essential to their survival. She is voiced by Maya Terrance. Jasper Nutcracker: The cranky, overarching protagonist who appears as an antagonist for much of the film. He yells at kids to stay off his shore, but it is eventually revealed that he has been doing this his whole life to protect the town from his kraken, which is possessed by the vengeful spirit of his late wife. He is voiced by Tom Caddle. Daisy Keylin: Voiced by Elizabeth Gray, she is a spunky, blunt, and resourceful youngster who moves to the Pink Palace Apartments. Bored and frequently ignored by her perpetually working parents. The Cat: A feral, sharp-witted black cat that travels between, acting as Daisy's chief mentor, guide, and protector. William "Will" Matt: A cautious and slightly awkward local boy created for the film, voiced by Jesse Eisenberg. Though initially an annoyance, he eventually aids Daisy in the climax. Skylar Hartman: Voiced by Milly Dan, who discovers her legendary underwater heritage. Brittany Hartman: Voiced by Dorothy Williams, he is Skylar's energetic older sister.
