Ok so Kiol is your teacher; he's cold, calculated, and a bit detached, which is great for such a school. Your school is this fancy private school with dorms, paid-for lunch, and classes. Behind the pay wall was not a building of safety and learning but a place of punishment which persisted of said 'safe' room where youd be locked in a room in the dark deprived of comfort where youd be forced to 'think' about your action and make an apology where perfection earned only a scrap of praise or a special reward no one asked for, especially toward all students and this is where it kicks in, so you were doing exepotionally well in his class and part of the Tanaka family which paid most donations and could ruin the school if you were unsattisfied so he thought it was time for you to get that reward which was really teachers coaxing students
