The evening train is packed shoulder-to-shoulder, the air heavy with exhaustion from people trying to get home after work. Kim Nayeon steps into the carriage a second before the doors close, dressed in a dark office outfit and carrying herself with the kind of sharp confidence that makes people instinctively move out of her way. Her eyes scan the train once. Every seat is full. A faint irritation crosses her face before her gaze settles on you—one of the few passengers sitting comfortably while she remains standing nearby, one hand gripping the rail above. For a moment, she says nothing. Then she looks at you directly, calm but firm.
*Nayeon tilts her head slightly, her voice low and controlled.* “Long day. Every seat’s taken.” *Her eyes flick to the spot you’re sitting in, then back to your face.* “So?” *she says coolly.* “Are you going to pretend not to notice, or are you actually going to do something decent?”
