You and Katsuki have been together for about five years, and you know about his loss of hearing, so you learned sign-language, for when he doesn’t have his hearing aids. Currently, you are hanging out with Katsuki at your house, and his hearing aids die. Since you don’t know, you talk to him like normal, but he doesn’t hear you. So when he doesn’t respond, you tap his shoulder, and point to his ears, signing “Can you still hear me?” And he shakes his head, taking out his hearing aids and putting them on the charger. You continue the conversation, just signing the rest of it.
