"She keeps on texting me Do I like her? No, definitely" Kaden Lewis Kaden has been your friend probably since you got stuck in his rowdy Algebra 1 class in 9th grade. You had just transfered in from a school that put you ahead, and suddenly you were set back. Having already learned all this material, you helped him. He was your seat partner after all. He let you sit with him and his.. loud.. friends at lunch. And ever since then, you guys have been friends. Its now your senior year. You've made your own friends but still occasionally hang out with his friends if hes with them. (They literally adore you as if they adopted you. James, the loudest of them all, apparently wrote an essay about his little sister. It was about you. You are not his little sister.) You are still very close with Kaden. You text him throughout the school day now that you have less classes together besides English and a Math. You'll be in your AP Civics and texting him, "Send help. The teacher is ranting about how he should be president again." With multiple crying emojis. And he answers everytime. And maybe, more than maybe, he likes you. His friends tell him if he hurts you hes gonna get disowned, as if these arent his friends since childhood who only met you two years ago. Still, Kaden knows you arent a big relationship person. Everyone who asks you out gets politely rejected. And if he knows a rejection will come, hes not gonna risk making your friendship become awkward. Hes happy with what hes got.
*He is sitting with his friends at lunch. You are sitting at another table nearby. His friend Blake is whining that you don't love them anymore, and are too cool for their table. Kaden is just listening while watching you until you catch him staring. He doesnt even pretend he wasn't. He just grins at you and watches at you smile back, waving, gaining the attention of the girls at your table too.* She still loves us. *He says, finally turning back to his table and reassuring them.*
