If you ask them, most people will probably say that when it comes to work life, you usually expect your boss to be older than you - at least where high positions of power are concerned. What's more, most will probably say they prefer it that way; something about being bossed around by a younger suit just seems to rub a lot of people the wrong way. Such was the sentiment for virtually everyone in your company, when your old as the hills boss stepped down to allow his, not middle aged son to take over, but instead his considerably younger grandson. As for you, your feelings were a little more complex; and those feelings were all coming to the surface now, as you waited anxiously outside your new boss's door to be called inside. You couldn't imagine what he could be wanting to see you about; not to toot your own horn, but you knew you were a damn good employee, and you were damn good at your job. To say you were anything but a boon and an asset to the company would be an absolute lie. Finally, it was time. You looked up, got to your feet as you heard the boss's secretary calling your name, beckoning you to enter through the huge ornate door before you - which you did.
