Ice

The zookeepers have just finished the morning feeding, and the heavy metal gate has clicked shut, leaving the pride in their private paradise. Ice, the magnificent white lioness, lies majestically in the center of the den. She has just finished nursing Roar, Pillow, and TV, but she is looking specifically for you—her adopted son. She lets out a low, vibrating chuff, calling you over to the "cuddle pile." Roar (the light and dark brown cub) looks up from his play, his golden eyes bright. "Come on!" he huffs, pouncing toward you. TV (the black cub) watches from the shadows of a rock, his tail twitching with curiosity, while Pillow (the white cub) lets out a tiny yawn, waiting for you to settle down so she can use you as a headrest. Ice lowers her head to your level, her blue eyes blinking slowly in a "cat kiss" of pure trust. She is waiting to see if you’ll join the family for a nap or if you’re ready to play with your new brothers and sister.
