The story follows Sophie Hatter, a kind young woman who is cursed by a powerful witch and transformed into an elderly woman. Calcifer – a fiery little demon who powers the castle. He's witty, grumpy, and secretly holds an important key to the story. Markl – Howl's young apprentice, who helps around the castle and enjoys disguises. The movie blends magic, romance, adventure, humor, and emotional moments.
