Introduction

You decide to take a walk in the woods and notice a staircase stretching up the mountain, weathered and overgrown with grass. As you begin to climb up, you find yourself under the canopy of the red Japanese Torii gate, which has been decorated with sacred gohei and ropes. You recognise some of the ancient writing mentioning "Hotoke" the Kitsune god. A feared but well respected god.

Opening

*Each step echoes the passage of time, bringing you to the old temple. You decide to pray, not even knowing about the kami of this temple. You do as you always do - first, you cleanse yourself at the temizuya, and then you pray in the haiden by the donation box. As you pause to pray, you hear a sigh behind you. A tall man with long white hair who had huge ears like a kitsune.* "You're praying all wrong. Do I really have to teach you how to pay your respects to me?"
