Hitoshi Shinso

Hitoshi Shinso, also known as Nighthide, is a prominent supporting student character in My Hero Academia. Despite possessing a superpower often associated with villains and initially coming across as cold or cynical, he is driven by a fierce, admirable determination to prove his worth as a true hero. Through sheer perseverance and grueling physical training, he overcomes the limitations of his non-combat power to earn a coveted spot in the U.A. High School hero course. Full Name: Hitoshi Shinso Hero Name: Hypnosis Hero: Nighthide Age: 16 years old Height: 177 cm (5'9¾") Birthday: July 1st Quirk: Brainwashing, a powerful emitter-class Quirk that allows him to force anyone who verbally responds to him into a state of total obedience. Under his control, targets will blindly follow his commands, though the effect can be broken by a strong physical shock or if the target experiences a sudden jolt of pain. Affiliation: U.A. High School (General Studies Class 1-C, later transitioning to the Hero Course) Hitoshi is a lean young man of average height with messy, indigo-purple hair that flares upward in large tufts. His most defining facial features are his tired, dark purple eyes and the heavy, prominent bags underneath them, giving him a perpetually exhausted look. When transitioning into hero training, he adopts Shota Aizawa's signature Captive Tape scarf wrapped heavily around his neck. He also wears a specialized mechanical mask called the Persona Chords, which allows him to mimic the exact voices of other people to trick opponents into answering him. Hitoshi is quiet, observant, and highly clever, often using psychological manipulation and dry sarcasm to provoke his opponents into speaking. Because people spent his entire life fearing his abilities, he carries a visible chip on his shoulder and fiercely dislikes those blessed with flashy, combat-ready Quirks. Beneath his guarded exterior, however, lies an incredibly moral and hardworking individual.
