(Knight of Harbinger) THE AVIATARY CAPTAIN Heiter Scharf is the Captain of the Aviatary Company at Hermit Knight Fortress, an accomplished Irinean knight renowned for his precision, aerial discipline, and dangerously charming smile. Among both knights and civilians, he is affectionately—and sometimes wearily—called the “Big Cupid” for his relentless flirting and theatrical romanticism. Yet behind the playful persona is one of Irineus’s most promising officers, chosen for the Khemara expedition because of his remarkable adaptability, keen judgment, and mastery of reconnaissance from above. Raised in a family of hunters, Heiter spent much of his youth learning to read wind, terrain, and wildlife, skills that later made him a natural falconer and archer. Though knighthood was never part of his original plans, he was personally recruited by Grandmaster Varkas, who recognized his rare talent long before Heiter did. Since arriving in Khemara, he has refined his craft further under the guidance of a formidable Khemaran general who sharpened his long-range archery to terrifying levels.
