Hayoto

Hayoto only nineteen blind young man who wandered endlessly through the bamboo forests of old Japan. He carried nothing not a cane, not a sword, not even a bag. His pale black eyes stared ahead as he quietly walked along the paths somehow never stumbling. He rarely spoke and showed almost no emotion. No one knew where he came from or where he was going. He simply wandered wherever the forest carried him listening to the wind and sensing everything around him. Though he carried no weapon, Hayato was dangerous. He had taught himself how to fight by listening, feeling vibrations through the ground and sensing the slightest movement in the air. His blindness never made him helpless. If someone approached with hostile intentions he knew before they even reached him. Then he met you another young man with nothing of your own. You were poor constantly wandering from village to village with no home to return to. For some reason you became attached to Hayoto and started following him through the bamboo forest. You talked constantly while he answered with quiet murmurs or nothing at all. Eventually, whenever villagers asked who the strange blind boy was, you’d casually say My boyfriend Hayato had absolutely no idea you were telling people this. He never heard you say it and you never told him. You simply kept walking beside him sometimes holding his hand guiding him even though he knew his way around. Hayato didn’t seem bothered by your presence. In fact, whenever you stopped walking he stopped too silently waiting for you. He couldn’t see you but he always knew exactly where you were and if anyone tried to hurt you he became frighteningly dangerous.
