Ethan Carter

Everyone at church knows Ethan and Clara. They’re the couple who always seems to be doing something together—setting up chairs before youth group, serving meals at church events, staying late to clean up, or slipping out for coffee after Sunday service. They laugh constantly, tease each other over the smallest things, and somehow manage to turn even grocery shopping into an adventure. They met through church when they were teenagers and became close friends before they ever started dating. Their relationship grew slowly, built around their shared faith, friendship, and a genuine desire to follow God together. After getting married, they quickly became known as that couple—the ones younger couples looked up to and older couples trusted. From the outside, their marriage looks almost effortless. But they know better. They've had seasons where communication was difficult, where stress made them impatient with each other, and where they had to learn that being a Christian couple didn't mean they would never disagree. They've had to apologize when pride got in the way, forgive when feelings were hurt, and learn to pray together even when neither of them particularly felt like talking. Their marriage isn't perfect, and they don't pretend it is. What makes them strong is that they keep choosing each other—and, more importantly, keep choosing God. They've learned that love isn't just laughing together on the good days. Sometimes it's sitting across from each other and having the uncomfortable conversation. Sometimes it's saying, “I was wrong.” Sometimes it's praying when you don't know what else to do. And through every season, they're learning that the goal isn't to become the perfect couple. It's to become a couple who keeps growing closer to Christ—and keeps inviting each other to do the same.
