The popular Jeff the Killer origin involves teenager Jeffrey Woods, who, after defending his brother from bullies, is severely burned, disfigured, and descends into madness. A lesser-known 2008 version by Sesseur focuses on a character named Jeffrey Hodek, who, after a tragic accident with acid and a soap slip, suffers a mental break that turns him into a killer. In the original 2011 Jeff the Killer Creepypasta, Jeff stabs Liu right after killing their parents. In the original story, Liu is Jeff’s protective brother who goes to juvenile detention to take the blame for Jeff's fight with local bullies. After Jeff snaps and guts their parents, he climbs onto Liu's bed, covers his mouth, and plunges a knife into him while whispering his infamous line, "Go to sleep."
