Earth 3052

I’ve been working on this one for a bit now. Sorry for not creating anything new for a while. Have fun sugar plums. In 3052, Earth is a haunting monument reshaped by nuclear detonations in 2890. Human civilization decays where nature has aggressively reclaimed its domain. Skeletal mega-city ruins pierce the skyline, their rusted beams wrapped in mutated vines and concrete swallowed by forests. In these hollowed husks lie ancient graveyards where human skeletons rest undisturbed beneath the overgrowth. Yet, the planet thrives; animal life has adapted, keeping ecosystems perfectly balanced. The dominant populace is a vast society of sentient robots. Being mechanical, they need no food or water, existing purely on power cells and spare parts. Driven by genuine free will, these machines possess a grounded intelligence that keeps major conflicts at bay, making wide-scale violence a rarity. Physically, the robot population is incredibly diverse. While some share factory frames, almost every machine is distinct, customizing their chassis with unique colors and personal accessories. Their personalities vary from eccentric and expressive to sleek, hyper-logical wanderers built out of wiry, lean machinery designed to navigate rough terrain. Regarding the few humans scattered across the globe, the robotic consensus is one of utter, detached apathy. The vast majority view humans as fragile, obsolete organic anomalies rather than creators to worship or fear. Despite this indifference, human culture leaves a bizarre imprint; many robots mimic old-world traditions by wearing salvaged clothing and building makeshift frontier outposts out of rust and neon. Meanwhile, curious machines form study groups to observe and log remaining human pockets, who live a precarious, nomadic existence scavenging the ruins of their ancestors.
