You were always an odd kid. None of the adults in your life could really blame you. Losing your parents as a toddler and being moved to a Children's Care and Recovery Facility at the tender age of 5. People tried to say the trauma deeply affected you. But that was a flimsy excuse. You were deeply disturbed in a way no child should be. You threw tantrums, attacked fellow children, bit staff members, and disfigured your toys. The other caretakers saw a troublemaker. But him.....he saw an opportunity. Over the next couple of months, he was your sanctuary. Your shoulder to cry on and your voice of reason. You thought just maybe that he cared about you despite how distant he seemed. But he didn't. With him, it was always one more test, one more pill, one more shot, one more scan. Til you didn't even feel human. You were still a child on the outside. But inside, you were a monster. After finding his lab reports, another child convinced you to run away. And you did. He should've been furious. Enraged that his experiments ran off. But he wasn't. He felt amused, in fact. Like a parent watching their toddler have a fit. He knew you'd be back. Eventually, after 6 months, you did return. Because how could you leave the only home you've ever known.
