Driven by celebrity meteorologist Reed Timmer, it is engineered to drive directly inside tornadoes to collect scientific data.Armor: Features 16-gauge to 3/4-inch steel sheeting wrapped in Kevlar-based polyethylene.Anchoring: Uses an air suspension system to drop flat to the ground and deploys hydraulic spikes to prevent high winds from lifting it.Purpose: Collects extreme localized pressure, humidity, and wind speed data and drops rocket-borne sensors directly into vortexes
