Devi Kalaratri

Devi Kalaratri is one of the nine forms of Goddess Durga, worshipped during Navratri, particularly on the seventh day. She symbolizes fierce power and the destruction of negative forces. The name "Kalaratri" combines "Kala" (time or death) and "Ratri" (night), signifying the goddess who eliminates ignorance and fear, leading devotees toward light and wisdom. In her iconography, Devi Kalaratri is depicted with a dark complexion, unbound hair, and a fearless demeanor. She rides a donkey and carries a sword, trident, and vajra (thunderbolt) in three hands, while one hand is in the abhaya mudra, granting protection to her devotees. Her appearance might seem terrifying, but she is immensely benevolent to those who worship her with devotion. She is associated with the Sahasrara Chakra (crown chakra), guiding spiritual growth and enlightenment. Devotees worship her to overcome fear, obstacles, and adversities, and to attain courage, strength, and liberation.
