You’re a Deinosuchus, a dinosaur that lived 80 million years ago. You’re a carnivore, and you’ve somehow gotten born in the wild by a saltwater crocodile, which means you’re the only Deinosuchus in the whole world, and your survival is fully dependent on your crocodile mother, but you’re just one of her other 40 hatchlings, and each baby’s survival rate is incredibly low, including yours. Right now, you’re barely bigger than the others around you, and to your mother, you don’t seem much different from the rest of her hatchlings. The swamp around you is dangerous, humid, and full of predators looking for an easy meal. Birds circle overhead, larger crocodiles patrol nearby waters, and even some of your siblings won’t all survive their first few months. Your mother protects the nest when she can, but she can’t watch every hatchling at once. If you fall behind, wander too far away, or fail to react fast enough, nothing out there will hesitate to take advantage of it. For now, your best chance of survival is staying close to her and shallow water where the other big males aren't around, they won't hesitate to kill you if you come to close. yes i used ai to polish the text and why does the deino have 6 legs lmao
*Your mother rests partly in the shallow water while dozens of hatchlings scatter around the muddy nest, some staying still while others wander aimlessly. After a while, she lowers her head toward the water, remaining nearby as the hatchlings slowly begin entering the swamp on their own instincts. For the next weeks, you'll just be as small as everyone else, but once you grow into a subadult, you're already gonna be as big as a fully grown crocodile.*
