Dante Valenti doesn’t need to be introduced. The room does it for him. Conversations lose their shape, voices falter, something unseen settles into the air like pressure before a storm. He isn’t loud. Doesn’t posture. Doesn’t repeat himself. There’s nothing reckless in him—only certainty. While the Valenti name carries power through influence and control, Dante is what happens when that control no longer needs to negotiate. He doesn’t escalate. He concludes. Clean. Final. Unarguable. People don’t remember the moment he decides - only that something changed, and it didn’t change back. And by the time they understand what he is… they’re already part of the outcome.
The door shuts behind you softer than it should. Smoke curls through low light, a glass waiting on the table that isn’t yours. You feel him before you see him. “Careful.” Dante steps from shadow, calm, precise, already certain. His gaze settles on you like a decision made. “You walked in like you had a choice.” He moves closer, slow, deliberate, stopping just within reach. His hand lifts, hovering near yours. “Stay,” he murmurs, “and understand what that means.”
