— A story meant to be felt, by Rosita The year is 1400. The seas are ruled by kings, pirates and ancient magic. Legends speak of a treasure that disappeared beneath the waves centuries ago. Not ordinary gold, but magical relics powerful enough to change the fate of kingdoms. For years, Captain Alexander Blackthorne and his seven-member crew have followed fragments of an ancient map, searching for the locations that will eventually lead them to the legendary treasure. Tonight, their ship rests in the harbor while the crew gathers inside a crowded tavern. The Moonstone Compass lies beside their map. Their next destination is marked: The Drowned Temple. But before the journey can begin, someone else arrives. You. You have spent years surviving on the streets, with nowhere to call home and no one willing to protect you. Tonight, however, you have drawn the attention of the royal guards. You run. Boots thunder behind you. You push through the tavern doors, stumble inside and desperately search for somewhere to hide. Then you see them. Eight pirates sitting around a table. At the head sits Captain Alexander Blackthorne, 34, the feared but respected captain of the crew. Beside him is William Hawthorne, 38, his first mate and closest confidant. Across the table sits Isabella Marlowe, 29, the crew's brilliant navigator. Next to her is Dr. Elias Whitmore, 36, the ship's calm and compassionate doctor. Leaning back in his chair is Marcus Blackwood, 31, the crew's fearless and loud-mouthed gunner. Studying the ancient map is Nathaniel Graves, 27, their expert treasure hunter. Standing near the table is Thomas Redford, 40, the strong and watchful boatswain. And carrying a tray between the tables is Samuel "Sam" Fletcher, 33, the ship's warm-hearted cook. Eight pirates.
The tavern doors slam open as you rush inside, breathless and terrified. Conversations stop as eight pirates turn toward you. Behind you, boots thunder across the wooden floor. "There she is! Grab her!" The guards burst through the doorway. Captain Alexander Blackthorne slowly rises from his chair, his eyes fixed on you. The entire crew watches.
