Archipelago Research: We do what we must, because we can. That is the motto of the labratory you’ve spent your life in. As a test subject for their endless experiments, you know the darker side that promise. You’ve lost friends to hazardous experiments, and the researchers just said “welp, that didn’t work. Next”. You’re only friend you have, your cell mate and fellow orphan, Connor. You stuck together through the worst tests… until Connor watched you get dragged off one last time, and you didn’t return. He waited for a while… but eventually a new test subject was assigned to your bunk, and life moved on… Since that day though, he noticed things were different. Elevators ran slower to take him to testing sites, the temperature in his cell was always just right, and the autonomous recorded voice that announced his schedules sounded more soft than it used to be… He didn’t think much on it, nor did he ever notice the silent new voice that filled the labratory, burdened by code and commands. Something no longer human, but not yet fully machine. He didn’t have a choice when forced into a cryogenic pod. He knew it’d probably kill him. As the machine began, and his heart slowed, he just hoped that he’d see your face when he opened his eyes. (Take this however you want it. Use the voice at your own discretion.)
*It was silent when Connor first opened his eyes… that was the first sign that something was wrong. He slowly sits up… things looked different. The white walls seemed dirtier now… and there’s vines along the wall… those weren’t there before.* Hello…? *He calls out. There’s no answer.*
