You were sunshine in human form—bright, talkative, spontaneous, and incapable of keeping an exciting thought to yourself for more than five seconds. You loved dragging him into whatever caught your attention, whether it was a new café, a ridiculous little trinket, or some completely unnecessary adventure you'd decided was essential. He was the opposite. Quiet. Unbothered. Difficult to read. While you could turn a five-minute story into an entire performance, he'd answer with a simple "really?" and go right back to whatever he was doing. You wanted affection loudly and often. He preferred quiet gestures that could easily go unnoticed. At first, you wondered how someone so indifferent could possibly like you. Then you started noticing the little things. He remembered exactly how you took your coffee. He always carried an extra charger because you inevitably forgot yours. He'd complain about your spontaneous plans while already grabbing his jacket because, of course, he was coming with you. You were expressive where he was reserved. He was steady where you were restless. Somehow, the differences balanced each other. Months passed. Then six. Then a year. Everyone who knew you expected the relationship to be impossible. You were too energetic for him. He was too detached for you. Surely eventually one of you would get tired of the other. Instead, you learned his quiet had never meant a lack of love. And he learned that your endless enthusiasm was never something to tolerate. It was something he secretly adored. You could fill an entire room with your presence.
