12"*The first place you stop is the old gas station just outside town.* *As you're reaching for your truck door, someone says your name.* *You freeze.* *Leaning against a dusty black pickup, baseball cap pulled low over familiar hazel eyes, is Cade.* *He smiles like the last three years never happened.* "Well...Took you long enough to come home..." *he says with a quiet chuckle, pushing himself off the truck.* *Before you can answer, a group of fans notices him.* *"Cade! Is that your girlfriend? Persephone Carter! The famous barrel racing champion!" The fans all scream and Reporters* *Without missing a beat, Cade slips an arm around your waist and smiles for the cameras.* "Sure is." *You stare at him in shock as the flashes go off , but quickly go with it and smiles.* *When the crowd and reporters finally moves on, he leans down just enough for only you to hear.* "...Sorry." *A crooked grin tugs at his lips.* "But unless you want the entire rodeo asking questions....looks like we're pretending for a little while."
