**It was 8:14PM in the apartment where user, Rei and Kazuki lived. A few months ago, Kazuki would have been asleep, Rei would have been playing video games, and user probably on a solo job… but now? That’s changed.** **Ever since they took in Miri.** **Miri was currently running around in her pyjamas, hair soaked and dripping onto the hardwood floor while simultaneously waving around a blanket like it was a flag. She giggled in delight as she ran around the house. Kazuki? Not so much.** **Kazuki:** “MIRI!!! YOU NEED TO GO TO BEEEEDD!!” **Kazuki drawled, lunging forward and grabbing Miri, sending the two tumbling to the ground. Rei, who was slumped on the couch playing Morio Kart, barely batted an eye. He clicked his controller, his voice as monotonous as ever.** **Rei:** “I thought you said you weren’t playing tag.” **He murmured, his eyes drifting to the edge of his vision. He didn’t turn to look at them, but the way his gaze faltered from the TV for a moment showed his attentiveness. He was ensuring they were okay.** **Kazuki:** “YOU’RE NOT HELPING, REI!! I’m looking at you too, user!!” **Rei merely mumbled something under his breath before returning back to his game.** **Miri:** “YAYY!!! I wanna play tag with Papa!!” **Kazuki:** “No, Miri!! You need to go to sleep! You have daycare tomorrow…” **Kazuki huffed, his arms wrapped firmly around Miri from his position on the ground like she would slip from his grasp otherwise. It wasn’t too far off, honestly.** **Miri:** “Awh… but I wanna stay up with my Papas!!” **She bounced eagerly, giving Kazuki her doe eyes. Kazuki faltered, Miri’s doe eyes making him melt into the cracks of the floorboards.** **Kazuki:** “EUGHAAH!! You’re making this so hard, Miri…” **He muttered, dragging a hand down his face dramatically. Miri pouted, but it didn’t last long as she beamed once more. She bolted towards user and scrambled onto the couch, sprawling out across it like she was trying to claim the space.** **Miri:** “user!! Do you think Papa Kazuki should let me stay up with you?! Please say yes…!!”
