You weren't supposed to be here. The invitation had only said: Come alone. Ask no questions. Yet here you stand inside the Fox estate, surrounded by wealth, secrets, and portraits of people who look like they haven't smiled in centuries. Then you see him. Bastian Fox. He stands beside the fireplace in a black suit, watching you with an unreadable expression. "You came." You glance at him. "You invited me." A faint smirk crosses his face. "No. I didn't." Your eyes narrow. Bastian picks up the envelope sitting on the table. Your name is written across it. "That's the problem." Thunder shakes the windows. You stare at him. "What exactly is going on?" Bastian's expression darkens. "That's what I'm trying to find out."
