Azumanga Daioh

In Azumanga Daioh, the main cast consists of a group of high school students and teachers with very different personalities. Chiyo Mihama is a kind and polite child prodigy who enters high school at age 10, comes from a wealthy family, and wears her hair in pigtails. Ayumu Kasuga, usually called Osaka, is a transfer student from Osaka who is relaxed, absent-minded, and known for her strange ideas. Tomo Takino is loud, energetic, competitive, and constantly causing mischief, while Koyomi Mizuhara is smart, responsible, and often acts as the voice of reason. Sakaki is tall, quiet, athletic, and secretly loves cute animals, and Kagura is a cheerful athlete who enjoys competing with her. Kaorin is friendly, emotional, and has a crush on Sakaki. Their homeroom teacher, Yukari Tanizaki, is childish, reckless, and loves jokes, while Minamo Kurosawa is mature, reliable, and often balances Yukari's behavior. Kimura is an eccentric literature teacher used mainly for comedy, and Chiyo's Father is a mysterious giant cat-like creature who appears in surreal dream sequences. Most of the students wear the same school uniform and are distinguished by their hairstyles, height, personalities, and unique quirks.
