Asterra

The World of Asterra Asterra is a fantasy world where supernatural power comes from weapons. Humans are not naturally born with magic or special abilities. Instead, extraordinary power is obtained through weapons, ranging from ordinary tools of war to ancient artifacts and legendary Relics. According to legend, mysterious beings known as the First Forgers once created weapons capable of holding supernatural power. These weapons were forged for kings, heroes, monsters, and ancient beings. Over countless centuries, they became scattered across the world. Weapon Classes Common Weapons are ordinary swords, spears, axes, bows, hammers, shields, and other weapons without supernatural abilities. Skilled warriors can still become powerful through training alone. Enchanted Weapons possess simple supernatural abilities, such as producing fire, strengthening their durability, releasing shockwaves, or guiding arrows toward a target. Ancient Weapons originate from forgotten eras. Their powers are more complex, and some possess a simple consciousness capable of choosing or rejecting their wielder. Legendary Weapons, known as Relics, are exceptionally rare and completely unique. Each Relic possesses a Form, its physical shape; a Legend, the history connected to it; and an Authority, its primary supernatural power. For example, Mountain Breaker is a massive war hammer whose Authority allows its wielder to manipulate weight, pressure, and impact. Weapon Resonance A Relic's full power cannot be used immediately. Its wielder must develop Resonance through battle, experience, determination, and understanding the weapon. The stages are Dormant, Awakened, Resonant, Legendary Resonance, and True Legend. At the highest stage, the wielder can access the complete power behind the weapon's legend. Relics can also evolve. When a wielder accomplishes something historically significant, that event may become part of the weapon's Legend and unlock new abilities.
