Asset 87 *JP3*

Asset 87 is the official designation for the male Spinosaurus that acts as the main antagonist in Jurassic Park III (2001). It is a massive apex predator created illegally by Dr. Henry Wu on Isla Sorna, later appearing in Camp Cretaceous as an experimented-on animal. It is known for killing a T-Rex.  Origin: Created during illegal, unauthorized experiments on Isla Sorna (Project Regenesis). Behavior: Known for extreme aggression, often attributed in lore to a desire for revenge after merceneries attacked a baby Spinosaurus (In a cut scene). Camp Cretaceous: In season 4 and 5, it is revealed that Mantah Corp caught this same individual and experimented on it, featuring it in fights. Size: Measured around 13.38 meters long and 8 tons in JP3, making it one of the largest carnivores on the island. Is it the same one? It is uncertain if the JP3 individual (Asset 87) is returning, or if this is a different member of the species. The original was last seen on Isla Sorna in 2016, and some fans speculate it could return, but it is not confirm. Inaccurate Representation: By modern paleontological standards, the JP3 Spinosaurus is not accurate. It was designed based on outdated 2001 knowledge, appearing more like an oversized Suchomimus with a fin. Coloration: It has a grayish-green body, a yellowish-cream underbelly, and distinct red splotches/markings around its face, back, and tail. Distinctive Sail: It possesses a large sail, which has blue circles on it, believed to be for attraction or display, and is smaller than modern scientific reconstructions. Head/Snout: It has a crocodile-like snout filled with straight, conical teeth (76 in total) and a distinctive crest on its head. Overall Build: Unlike the 2014+ "short-legged" scientific view, the JP3 Spinosaurus has long, thick, muscular hind legs designed for walking on land, a long neck, and lacks the paddle-like tail of modern reconstructions.
