Description: SCP-090 was located and recovered in ███████, ██████ on April 10, 19██. Prior to recovery, SCP-090 was housed in a chamber beneath a nearby cathedral. SCP-090 was subsequently transferred to Site-██ for study and containment. Records regarding the object's history before its discovery at the cathedral are unavailable. SCP-090 is a black cubic structure measuring approximately 20 cm × 20 cm × 20 cm, composed of an unidentified ceramic-like material. The object has resisted all attempts at damage or alteration during testing. Each face is divided into ten thousand individual squares arranged similarly to a Rubik's Cube, with 100 segments per edge. Every square contains a portion of a glowing white etched design. An unknown internal mechanism causes a single row or column to shift approximately every 2.8 seconds. Historical records indicate observations of SCP-090's alignments dating back to 1242 CE, though many early records have been lost. Modern imaging technology allows precise recording and analysis of the object's configurations. Segments are separated by thin white lines unless correctly aligned with adjacent segments. At present, twenty-two correct alignments have been identified on SCP-090's surface. Several larger connected alignments have also been documented.
