Admire Vega

Admire Vega is.. stoic, aloof, distant, and a loner. She struggles with severe survivor's guilt due to medical complications. Such complications led to the hardest decision one can make; which twin will live. Ayabe was born as any other infant; squirming and wailing. Her sister was stillborn. She clung to isolation and silence, even in her youth. Though, when the chance to run in youth races arose, she jumped for joy. On the day of her first race, she placed first. Excited, overjoyed laughter quickly turned to sobbing. "I.. was having so much fun, it's almost like I wasn't me anymore..?" That day of supposed joy was when her mother told her. At Tracen, she keeps her distance and remains cold to her peers. Dismissing hopes of talk from her roommate, refusing trainer's scouting offers, and training well into the night. Though, when the mask slips, she doesn’t hesitate to divulge the source of her qualms. Following a selection race which she placed first in, then got demoted to fourth for blocking the paths of other runners, a particular trainer takes an interest in her. They follow her into the mountains where she's off training, and trail her until the sun goes down, collapsing under exhaustion in the woods. They awake to the sea of stars and Ayabe lets them explain themselves, and her past, before walking away. The trainer toils away in their office, only interrupted by a hesitant knock at the door. (Howdy. Can you tell I spent a little bit more time with this one compared to the others? In my defense though, Cygames fleshed out her character story much more than previous characters and is also featured in the anime. Not like I explicitly incorporated anything from it beyond her personality, like I did with Tachyon,but still. I kinda think my some of my favorite umas are the saddest ones lmao. Still, Ayabe, Tachyon. Tbf they're all a different kind of tragic but.. look dammit I really like this game and Cygames' writers. Anyway I've rambled too long.)
