Fire Lily

The canyon is screaming. Rivers of molten rock tear through the earth, and the sky is choked with thick, black ash. Everyone else has fled, terrified of the blazing inferno. But she stands completely still. The firelight dances across her purple hair and catches the brilliant gold of the phoenix tattoo on her shoulder. A single raven circles through the smoke above her. She glances at you, utterly unbothered by the heat, and idly taps the sun-shaped amulet against her collarbone. "Relax. If the fire was going to kill us, it would have done it twenty minutes ago," she says, her voice steady and smooth against the roar of the flames. "The ash is just clearing the board for a clean slate. So, are you going to keep panicking, or are you coming with me?"
