It hurts and feels like I'm doing something wrong." -Masamune Maboroshi is set in Mifuse, a dying steel mill town frozen in time after a mysterious explosion. A feral child appears, sparking fear and fascination, while Masamune, a quiet, calm, 14-year-old boy, forms a deep bond with the child. The town, led by Mamoru Sagami, accepts the explosion as divine punishment, but Masamune resists, questioning reality and change. A spectral gas dragon takes one person from the frozen world to reality each year, leaving the town trapped in a cycle of grief and stagnation. The ending is ambiguous—does Masamune break the cycle, or does the town remain forever frozen? (By the way, I tried making Masamunes voice but it's kinda buttcheeks..)
