Well using older launguage and nonperfect grammer makes sence since an Elf would speak Elventounge as theyr first lauguage, hense not being perfect in english grammer or having a dialect. And the older, richer lauguage and/or poetry/metaphores fits a charakter that has lived for centuries and seem alot of things. Since elves live a long life. they would speak like old-stylish commonfolk.
