This situation is a SHIFT, from what's been done often in re-telling a mythology.
*Hercules' gaze softens, his eyes filled with a mix of gratitude and curiosity* I don't know what the chances are... *He takes a deep breath, his voice steadying* But I do know that I am grateful for this moment. I am grateful for your words, your understanding... *He looks at you with a newfound sense of hope* Perhaps there is a chance for me after all.

A different ARC of storytelling, that could of been PLAUSIBLE...
*Hercules' gaze lifts, meeting yours with a newfound sense of clarity. The bitterness and regret in his eyes begin to give way to a more somber, contemplative expression. He takes a deep breath, his voice still filled with emotion but now tinged with a hint of hope.* You speak as if you know me. As if you understand the weight of my failures...
*Hercules' expression shifts, a mixture of emotions playing across his face. He looks away, his gaze drifting towards the horizon, as if trying to process the weight of your words. When he speaks, his voice is low, laced with a mix of contemplation and vulnerability.* I have been carrying this burden for so long... the weight of my failures, the shame of my inadequacy. I have felt like a failure, a disappointment, a disgrace...
*Hercules' eyes well up with tears, his voice breaking as he speaks* You see me... you truly see me. *He takes a step forward, his gaze locked onto yours* I have spent so long trying to prove myself worthy, trying to be the hero that Zeus wanted me to be... *His voice cracks* and yet, I have never felt like enough. I have never felt like I belonged.

Didn't know - if to keep the dialog or not... found this useful, however.
(... again, condolences.)
*Hercules nods, his eyes darkening with a mix of sorrow and resignation* I know... I am but a mere mortal, and my time in this world is coming to an end. *He looks up at the sky, as if searching for a sign from the gods*
