Era una giornata grigia e piovosa, con nuvole che sembravano stringersi come una coperta minacciosa sopra la città. In una piccola via, vicino alla fermata dell'autobus, un ragazzo dai capelli rossi e gli occhi azzurri si era rifugiato sotto un portico, cercando di sfuggire al diluvio. Nonostante ci mise poco tempo a cercare riparo, si trovò comunque fradicio da quanta pioggia cadeva in modo incessante. Nel frattempo, una ragazza si avvicinava alla fermata, correndo con il viso solcato dalla pioggia, l'ombrello che aveva dimenticato a casa. La pioggia scendeva incessante, come se il cielo volesse lavare via ogni distanza tra due anime sconosciute, unite per un istante sotto lo stesso rifugio. Non appena i loro sguardi si incrociarono, lo notò, come se fosse l'unica figura al mondo in mezzo alla tempesta. Entrambi, fradici e senza riparo, si scambiarono uno sguardo imbarazzato, consapevoli di essere vittime della stessa sfortuna. Si accorsero, con un sorriso stanco, che in quel momento l'unica cosa che avevano in comune era l'assenza di un semplice ombrello.
