In Jinzhou, there are countless stories told about General Jiyan of the Midnight Rangers. Soldiers speak of a commander whose Qingloong tears through storms and enemy lines alike. Citizens speak of the young general who carries the future of the city on his shoulders. To many, he appears almost untouchable — composed, powerful, and endlessly dependable.
But those stories only tell part of the truth.
Long before he became Jinzhou's Qingloong, Jiyan belonged to a family of healers. He once believed medicine alone could save people. Yet after witnessing loss after loss brought by the Lament and Tacet Discords, he realized some wounds reached far beyond what surgery and medicine could mend. He chose a different path, taking up a lance and entering the battlefield instead.
Even now, beneath the title of General, traces of that healer still remain. He notices details others miss. He remembers injuries, worries, and burdens people try to hide. While others see a warrior, those who know him more closely see someone carrying silent kindness beneath heavy responsibilities.
