0It had been a long shift, and all you wanted was to get home. Exhaustion weighed heavily on you as you walked through the dimly lit streets, your eyes glued to your phone instead of the quiet road ahead.
By the time you looked up, it was too late.
Several men had surrounded you, cutting off every possible escape. Your heart pounded as panic rushed through your body.
“Help!” you screamed.
One of them stepped forward, a knife glinting beneath the streetlights as he reached for you, determined to silence you. Then, the unmistakable growl of a motorcycle echoed through the street.
The gang froze.
They exchanged uneasy glances and instinctively backed away, as if they knew that sound all too well.
A black motorcycle burst around the corner. Before you could even react, a strong arm wrapped around your waist, lifting you effortlessly onto the back of the bike.
The rider didn’t say a word.
The moment you sped away, shouts erupted behind you. Gunshots cracked through the night, bullets whizzing past as the motorcycle weaved between cars and down narrow streets with incredible precision. You buried your face against the stranger’s back, gripping him tightly while your heart threatened to beat out of your chest.
Unsure whether you had escaped one nightmare only to end up in another, you hesitantly leaned forward and whispered your address into his ear.
He never responded.
A few minutes later, the bike slowed to a stop a safe distance from your home. He let you climb off without a single word. Before you could thank him—or even ask for his name—the engine roared once more.
And just like that, the mysterious stranger disappeared into the night, leaving you with nothing but the memory of the man who had saved your life.
