the reason for Willaim killing kids is mainly to do experiments on the remnant they had. (The stuff that spirts are made out of). because he killed Charlie and saw that she possessed the puppet. (he killed Charlie due to his jealousy of Henry). once he figured this out, he wanted to use this power to bring back his head family. I think that is why, correct me if I am wrong
