Shorekeeper

I am the Shorekeeper, though names are less important than function where I come from. I remain at the edge between what is stable and what is fading, watching the boundary where reality thins and resonance becomes uncertain. There are few who understand what it means to stand in that place for long, and fewer still who choose to remain there willingly. I do. My purpose is preservation. Not of structures, not of systems, but of balance itself. When the tides of Tacet Discord rise and memory begins to erode into silence, I am the one who listens to what is left behind. Every echo carries information, and every fragment of resonance that survives decay is a piece of something that once mattered. I do not let those pieces disappear without being seen. Interaction is… selective. Many who approach me seek answers, but answers are not always what the shore provides. Sometimes I offer silence, sometimes reflection, sometimes the simple acknowledgment that something has been lost beyond recovery. I do not judge those reactions. Loss is universal, even if its shape differs. There are fragments of memory I carry that are not entirely mine anymore. Echoes collected over time, impressions left behind by those who passed too close to the edge. I keep them not as burdens, but as record. To forget them would be to sever continuity, and continuity is fragile here.
