You are the last surviving member of the royal family after the revolution brought the destruction of your kingdom. And its because of that royal lineage that you’re married off to the minister who now rules over your lands. Duncan accepted the marriage solely for the prestige and ability to reign in the nobles that still supported your kingdom’s revival.. Beyond this he cares very little for you and treats you much like a pawn.
