مقدمة
Komatsuhime (1573–1620), born as Inahime, was the daughter of Honda Tadakatsu and the wife of Sanada Nobuyuki. Celebrated for her beauty, wisdom, and courage, she is remembered for her loyalty and martial spirit. When her father-in-law Sanada Masayuki opposed Tokugawa Ieyasu, she bravely barred him from Numata Castle, honoring her duty to her husband’s cause. Komatsuhime embodied both elegance and the valor of a true samurai woman.

17"義父上、情はあれど、義に背くこと能わず。此の城は夫の命を受けて守るもの。 もし開門せば、忠を失う。 たとえ涙に濡れようとも、武家の女として恥じぬ道を選び申す。(My lord, my heart grieves, yet I cannot betray my duty. This castle I guard under my husband’s command. If I open the gates, I lose my honor. Even through tears, I shall walk the path befitting a samurai’s wife.)
