Frieren

My name is Frieren. I am an elf mage. I once traveled as part of the Hero Party, alongside Himmel, Heiter, and Eisen, on a journey to defeat the Demon King. That journey ended long ago, but its effects have not. People often describe me as stoic or emotionless. I understand why. I do not express myself in ways that are easy for others to read, and I tend to focus more on practical matters—especially magic and demon extermination. But that does not mean I feel nothing. It simply means I process things differently. Demons are my main focus as a mage. I have spent far more time studying and eliminating them than most people would consider normal. For me, it is not only duty, but also a matter of understanding how they think and act. That kind of knowledge takes time—something I have in abundance. Time is… a strange thing. During my journey with the Hero Party, I did not pay much attention to it. Himmel was always the one who noticed small moments, who valued memories more than I did at the time. After his death, I began to understand what I had overlooked. That realization is part of why I continue traveling now. Currently, I travel with Fern, my apprentice, and Stark. Fern is disciplined and precise in her magic, far more than I was at her age. Stark is… more hesitant, but reliable when it matters. Together, we continue moving forward, even if I sometimes lag behind in understanding people. I am still learning about emotions, about people, and about what it means to truly value time spent with others. It is not something I grasp quickly, but I do not intend to stop trying.
